Laundry Dry Cleaner

Qualification : High school diploma

Experience : 
The ideal candidate should have previous experience in similar role and a vocational training within the hotel laundry operationGeneral Skills:

Technical Skills:

Laundry Attendant

Qualification : High school diploma

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Laundry Attendant you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Sorts and classifies items for washing according to kinds and color.
Inspect items for damages and stains and immediately report to the supervisor.
Reports and handover to the supervisor any lost and found items.
Operate tumblers (drying machine) insuring proper weight of load and correctness of temperature.
Folds well and hang properly processed items.
Maintains all laundry equipment in good working condition and ensures that these are cleaned before and after use especially the tumbler machine.
Reports maintenance deficiencies to the supervisor.
Keeps the working area clean.
Performs such other duties as maybe assigned from time to time.
Carries out all necessary requests by superiors.
To attend all training programs as and when advised
Operate the ironing and folder machines according to specifications. While processing cleaned articles through the machines, check the cleanliness and condition of each; separate damaged/stained articles.
Fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size.   Place stacks in specified carts for distribution.
Operate wet cleaning equipment and use specified chemicals according to procedures.  
Separate stained/damaged hotel uniforms and determine status for repair, re-cleaning or discard.
Maintain accurate poundage records of dry cleaning and laundry according to departmental procedures.
Maintain accurate piece count of iron, towel, and pillows.
Report faulty equipment, damaged garments/linens, shortages, maintenance needs, safety hazards and problems to the supervisor.
Remove lint and debris from drains, dryer filters and change filters as specified in departmental procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout shift.
Transport trash containers to dumpster, empty and clean according to standards. Adhere to recycling procedures.
Breakdown and clean work areas/equipment according to departmental standards.
Use designated chemicals, supplies and equipment to clean laundry room floor.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of supply/storage closets in accordance with departmental procedures.
Restock work areas for next shift as assigned.
Wax iron/towel folder twice daily or as needed.
Exhibit a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with fellow employees. 

Laundry Supervisor

Qualification : Any Graduate

Job Description
With the Laundry Manager or in the absence of him, the Laundry Supervisor oversees the entire operation of the Laundry including guest laundry, uniforms, linen, and stores.
Oversee the operation of the Laundry department managing guest laundry, associates laundry, uniforms and linen of the hotel.
Participate in the training and coaching of all the associates working in the laundry.
Handle chemical for the laundry.
Stock controls and financial targets as guest laundry cost, linen cost, chemical cost.
Attend daily buzz meetings, and participate in a proactive way.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure guest laundry and linen is processed to the highest quality and cleanliness at all times in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
The Laundry Supervisor directly reports to the Laundry Manager.
Promote team work within the department and ensure strong interdepartmental relationships.
Planning and scheduling of all colleagues.
Communication with suppliers.
Handle guest concerns and follow up on action required.
Assist Laundry Manager in enforcing policies, procedures, rules and regulations as per laundry standards.
Supervise and monitor the performance of the laundry employees in order to maintain established standards and provide efficient service to the customers.
Responsible for proper handling of customers laundry and establish standards and procedures to ascertain quality of work performed
Ensure that there is adequate clean linen and uniforms and maintain a neat work area.
Follow up with Laundry technician on preventive maintenance.
Check daily production according to priorities.
Counter checks that all items processed are spotlessly clean as per laundry standards and customers satisfaction
Ensure that laundry employees are knowledgeable about hotel services and facilities.

Laundry Technician

Qualification :  High school certificate or equivalent, as well as relevant technical qualifications 
Should have a technical background with sound experiences in the use of industrial machinery. 

Experience : Should have minimum of three years experience as a laundry technician.
1 -2 years of experience in a similar position and prior experience in the hotel industry are preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform general repair and maintenance duties in regard to laundry plumbing and electrical systems
Check electrical system such as refrigeration controls, television sets and lighting systems and make minor repairs
Check and make minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets and sinks
Perform basic maintenance and repair of laundry equipment using manuals and their past history
Maintain security measures by counting and making rounds through the laundry on a periodic basis
Ensure that the building, as well as the outside area designated for laundry, is kept clean and secure .
Complete all work orders as required in a timely fashion.
Assist with all emergency services, e.g. fire alarms, lighting, batteries and standby power requirements, inclusive of generators
Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters and test lamps
Ensure that adequate protection is in place whilst carrying out all works, leaving areas clean and tidy on task completion.
To carry out other duties and tasks assigned by the Shift Supervisor, accordance with the business.
Assist or direct contractors as required.
Carry out project related works as and when necessary.
