EDUCATIONAL: Master degree in Tamil/Telugu /Malayalam/Kannada with ancient Indian History as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree Level from a Recognized University OR Master Degree in History with Ancient Indian History as a subject and Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada as one of the subject at Bachelor’s Degree Level from a recognized University.  Doctorate Degree in any of the subject.

DUTIES: Supervise and provide scholarly guidance of the scholars of the Branch including extensive touring for interpretation of antiquities. Applications received through any other mode would not be accepted and summarily rejected. ii) Candidates must upload the following documents/certificates relating to educational qualification, Date of Birth, Experience (preferably in prescribed format), Desirable Qualification(s) or any other information, as claimed in the online application, in a single pdf file in such a way that the file size does not exceed 2 MB and is legible when a printout taken. Group Insurance & Gratuity.: Insurance cover of Rs. 82 lakhs for pilot/ Observer and Rs 75 lakhs for ATC (on contribution) and gratuity will be granted to an officer as per the latest rules in force. (Being revised as per 7th CPC).
Leave Entitlements:. On Commission, officers are entitled to 60 days annual and 20 days casual leave every year (subject to service exigencies). Leave during training period will be as per the extant Training policy in force. They are also entitled for 40% rail concession to any place and free travel (as per extant rules) for self and dependents.Selection Procedure:
  • SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled from Dec 17 to Mar 18 at Bangalore for pilot & observer, SSB interviews for ATC will be scheduled at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore/Visakhapatnam. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS (provided by candidate in their application form).
  • The total duration of SSB interviews is five days consisting of stage I (Day one) and stage II (Four days). Stage I Tests; consist of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Group Discussion Tests. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be sent back on the same day from SSB Centre. Stage II Tests consists of Psychological Tests, Group Task Tests and Interview. Successful candidates will undergo medical examination (approx 3-5 days). Candidates of Pilot entry are also required to undergo PABT (Pilot aptitude battery test) followed by Aviation medical examination. Candidates of Observer entry are also required to undergo Aviation medical examination.
  • Candidates recommended by the SSBs, cleared PABT (for Pilot Entry) and declared medically fit will be appointed for training based on merit list and depending on the number of vacancies available.
  • Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account.
  • Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the President of the SSB on receipt of call up letter.
  • Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.
  • No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained to a candidate during SSB tests.
  • Return First Class (AC III Tier/AC Chair Car) rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for this Commission on production of railway ticket. Candidates will carry photocopy of the first page of pass book or cheque leaf where the name, A/C No & IFSC details are mentioned, while appearing for SSB.
  • How To Apply?

    SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION:
    • For Pilot & Observer entry. Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 14 years. No extension will be given beyond 14 years.
    • For ATC. Short Service Commission is granted initially for 10 years extendable by maximum 04 years in 02 terms (02 years + 02 years) subject to service requirements, medical eligibility, performance and willingness of candidates. No extension will be given beyond 14 years.
    • Officers inducted under these schemes will not be given extension beyond fourteen years and will not be eligible for Permanent Commission

    Training.: Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lt. The training is tentatively scheduled to commence in the month of end Jun 2018 at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala. Full pay and allowances are admissible to the officers whilst under training.
    Pilot Entry: Pilot candidates will undergo 22 weeks of Naval Orientation Course (NOC) at INA, Ezhimala followed by Stage I and Stage II flying training at the Air Force/Naval Establishment. On successful completion of training, the candidates will be awarded wings. The candidates will be entitled for flying pay and allowances only after award of wings.
    Observer Entry. Observer candidates will undergo 22 weeks of Naval orientation course (NOC) at INA, Ezhimala. On completion of NOC the candidates will undergo SLT(X) Tech course followed by ab-initio training at Observer School. On successful completion of training at Observer School, the candidates will be awarded Observer wings. The candidates will be entitled for flying pay and allowances only after award of wings.
    ATC Entry: Candidates will undergo 22 weeks of Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at Air Force Academy and at various Naval Training Establishments/Units/Ships
    Note:
    • Only unmarried candidates are eligible to undergo training. A candidate who is found to be married or marries while under training will be discharged and shall be liable to refund full pay and allowances drawn by him/her and other expenditure incurred on the candidate by the Government.
    • They will be on probation for a period of two years which will commence from the grant of the rank of Sub Lt and will terminate after two years or on completion of their initial training (whichever is later). During probation they are liable to be discharged if their performance is unsatisfactory on professional/ medical/ disciplinary grounds.
    • If an officer voluntarily withdraws from initial/ professional training, or resigns during the probationary period, he/she shall be required to refund the cost of training in whole or in part, as may be determined by the Govt, and all money received by him/her as pay and allowances from the Govt. together with the interest on the said money calculated at the rate enforced for Govt. loans.

How To Apply?
  • A candidate seeking admission to the Examination must apply online in the prescribed Application Form available on the website: http://www.asrb.org.in. Important instructions to the candidates for filling online applications are given in Appendix-I.
  • The candidates are not required to attach copy of any of the documents /certificates in support of their candidature at the time of submission of online application. The candidates who qualify the Examination as per prescribed standards and qualify for Skill Test call, will be required to submit the self-attested copies of the documents/certificates in support of their candidature along with the print-out of the online application form when called for Skill Test, failing which the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the Skill test. Mere issue of admit card for the examination should not be considered that the candidate is eligible for the post in all respects. Eligibility of a candidate is checked only after qualifying the skill test. Hence, a candidate should satisfy himself / herself about his / her eligibility for the post at the time of online registration.No request for change in any field i.e., Centre of Examination, Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, E-mail Id, Mobile No., Phone No., Category, Medium of Examination etc. except bonafide spelling/typing mistakes, will be considered under any circumstances after the time allowed for editing of an application is over. Candidates are therefore advised to be very careful while filling up their application forms.
IMPORTANT NOTES:-
  • Candidates must ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination such as the qualification, age, category, etc. Their admission to the examination will be purely provisional. If on verification at any later stage, it is found that they do not fulfil all eligibility conditions; their candidature will be cancelled/ rejected and fee paid for examination will be forfeited. The verification of the eligibility of the candidates with respect to the documents submitted by them will be done at the time of or after the Skill Test. The Board shall summarily reject the candidature if he/she does not fulfil the eligibility conditions.
  • In cases, where any certificates/documents submitted by the candidates in support of their eligibility as stipulated in the preceding paragraph, is not found as per prescribed format, such candidates will not be given the opportunity to submit such certificate at a later date and consequently their eligibility will be scrutinized only as per the available documents/certificates. Accordingly, the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, Divyang and Ex-S are advised to ensure while submitting the documents that all the certificates/ documents are in the respective prescribed format as given in the Annexure-VII, VIII, IX and X of the notification. The documents/certificates in any language other than Hindi or English will not be accepted. In such cases, the candidates must submit either the certificates/documents in Hindi/English or its translated copy duly attested by Notary Public.
